Tuks in late semifinal change
FNB Tukkies have made a late change to their starting line-up for this evening’s Varsity Cup semifinal clash against the defending champion Maties in Stellenbosch.
Willie Nel comes in for Marnus Schoeman in the No.6 shirt, whilst coach Freddie Grobler has also brought in two new faces on his bench; Danie Crous (jersey No.19) and Jaco Oosthuizen (No.21), with the duo replacing Nel and Juan Claude Roos, respectively.
Tuks will face Stellenbosch at the Danie Craven Stadium at 6.45pm, with the UCT-Pukke semifinal kicking-off at 4.45pm. Both matches will be televised live on SuperSport One.
The winners of today’s semifinals will contest the 2009 FNB Varsity Cup presented by Steinhoff International Final on Monday, March 30. The venue and kick-off for the final will be announced after tonight’s second semifinal.

* If any of the semifinal matches end in a draw after regulation time, extra-time will be played. If the UCT-Pukke match ends in a draw, the second semifinal in Stellenbosch will thus start a few minutes later.
Extra-time regulations:
– Twenty minutes of extra-time will be played – ten minutes each half, with one minute for half-time in between.
– If the scores are still equal at the conclusion of extra-time, a ‘kick-out’ will be held.
– In the ‘kick-out’, each team chooses five players to place-kick from a designated point on the field as instructed by the Tournament Director, or referee. If the scores are still equal at that point; the kicks will then be done on a sudden-death basis.
– These sudden-death kicks must be taken by other players than the five that have already kicked. Thus a player can kick one kick only in the ‘kick-out’.
