UCT to bounce back?

FNB UCT will be looking to bounce back against southern suburbs foes, Villagers, when the two teams go head-to-head at the Green Mile in WP Super League action on Saturday.

The Ikeys suffered a shock 20-39 loss at the hands of a fired-up Victorians outfit during the week, but the Men from UCT will be hoping to put that behind them against their arch-enemies from down the road.

The Villagers match will be UCT’s third league match in the space of just seven days, but a win over Villagers will help ease the pain from Wednesday’s loss.

Of course, UCT won their 2009 league opener against ‘Durbell’ last Saturday, beating their fancied opponents 29-8 at their home ground.

UCT head coach John Dobson has made a few changes from the starting XV that went down to Vics – the most notable selection being the return of Tim Whitehead at centre – after a serious groin injury – with powerhouse Piet Engelbrecht lining up on the left-wing.

Saturday’s match kicks-off at 4pm.

The Ikey Tigers team: 15 Therlow Pietersen, 14 Marcello Sampson, 13 Dave Edgar, 12 Tim Whitehead, 11 Pieter Engelbrecht, 10 Matt Rosslee, 9 JP Robert, 8 Nick Fenton-Wells, 7 Craig Kleu, 6 Enoch Panya, 5 Bodo Sieber (captain), 4 Don Armand, 3 Herbert Mayosi, 2 Dayne Jans, 1 Vakai ‘Fish’ Hove.
Replacements: 16 Mark Goosen, 17 Dylan Rogers, 18 Dayne Galley, 19 Kuselo Moyake, 20 Kyle Wickins, 21 Marvin Christians, 22 Dave Clayton.
