#RWC2025: South Africa's powerful forward makes team of the week
Seven teams have booked their spots in the World Cup quarterfinals, with South Africa a surprise package in the line-up.
The Springbok Women recorded a 29-24 win over Italy to claim their first-ever play-off spot.
It was an incredible performance based on pure forward-driving strength, so it’s no surprise that Babalwa Latsha has earned a spot in this week’s Team of the Week.
Latsha was part of 15 of the 17 scrums.
Italy’s Vittoria Vecchini is the other player from that match to have made the cut.
France dominate proceedings, with four representatives in the team following their 84-5 win over Brazil.
Séraphine Okemba, Pauline Bourdon Sansus, Nassira Konde, and Émilie Boulard are the French stars included.
England and New Zealand both have three players each.
For the Red Roses, Jess Breach, Helena Rowland, and Kelsey Clifford have been selected, while the Black Ferns’ Stacey Waaka, Braxton Sorensen-McGee, and Jorja Miller are also in the mix.
Canada’s Sophie de Goede, Ireland’s Grace Moore and USA’s Freda Tafuna complete the XV.
