Captain's Profile: Dalton Viljoen
Potchefstroom is going to be a buzz when Dalton Viljoen's Volkies take on Gimmies in their FNB Classic Clash on Saturday and it will a day to savour.
The captain of the Volkies side is very much looking forward to the match and feels that his side is ready to take on their biggest rival.
"We have had a good season so far and have played some strong teams and have had some difficult results but we are always ready for our match against Gimmies," he mentioned.
Preparation for a massive game like this is no different to any other game but Viljoen feels that his side has been focusing on their defence a little more going into the match.
"This week we have been concentrating on our defence. We have been attacking well and are dangerous in that area so we have been working hard on our defensive structures.
"When ever we play against Gimmies it is a massive game and we know that they have been practising just as hard so we need to do that little bit extra," Viljoen stressed.
The Potchefstroom derby is one of the highlights of the North West rugby calendar and having such a massive following is exciting for both sides and Viljoen illustrated that previous results count for nothing on the day.
"This game is always a massive game and it doesn't matter how either teams seasons have gone because of the hype that surrounds the game.
"With this hype both sides lift their game and it is always a great match," he said excitedly.
