Top Five performances of the week

It was a weekend of highs and lows, evident in the words of the former Springbok coach Nick Mallet – who said to criticise South Africa at this stage would be akin to "clubbing baby seals".

While on the other side of the coin All Black coach Steve Hansen rated his side a 'B-plus or an A-minus' for the year.

In terms of individual performances, there were so many standout performers this weekend that it was difficult to collate a top five but ultimately like most things, it came down to the numbers.

What might surprise many is the absence of a certain Beauden Barrett, who probably should be in there for his outrageous pass to Milner-Skudder alone.
