England sweating over lock as Six Nations looms

Scans have confirmed that Saracens the lock fractured his jaw in Sunday’s Round 10 Premiership clash against Harlequins.

The 23-year old England forward left the field in the 48th minute of Saracens’ 19-20 defeat at the Twickenham Stoop and was taken to hospital where scans confirmed the fracture.

England and Eddie Jones now face an anxious wait to see how long Itoje will be sidelined which will be confirmed later this week when he when visit a second specialist.

The Six Nations begins the first weekend in February 2018, giving Itoje exactly two months to recover from an injury that can take 10 weeks to heal.
