Knock-out Stage: Australia cruise to victory over Wales

England overpowered Fiji to a 45-24 victory in the first play-off match.

Scotland then beat Samoa 35-20 in Murrayfield, Edinburgh – while Argentina fought a hard battle, to overcome Ireland 28-24 and take the last quarterfinal spot.

The Wallabies were comfortable winners over Wales, who took the match 24-9.

Jannie De Beer was the go to man for South Africa in the quarterfinals, by slotting over two conversion, five penalties and five drop goals, as the Springboks walked away with a 44-21 win over England.

New Zealand was too much for Scotland by over powering them to a 30-18 victory.

The remaining semifinal spot was filled by France, who won Argentina 47-26.

South Africa were outdone in the first semifinal at Twickenham, were Australia walked away winners, with the score 27-21.

France stunned New Zealand- with a hard fought 43-31 win.

It was a repeat of 1995 World Cup final, when the Springboks took on the All Blacks in the third-place play-off- with South Africa coming out tops again.
