Blast from the past: The Battle of Tucuman

WATCH as retired Springboks Keith Andrews and James Dalton reminisce over one of the most infamous games of all time – when South Africa met Tucuman on their tour of Argentina in 1993.

The Springboks are often seen as the aggressors, but when they entered Argentina’s rugby heartland of Tucumán they were met with outright hostility.

Tucumán had concluded from early on that they were not going to get the better of the touring team and thought that roughing them up for Los Pumas in the Test match would be a better proposition.
