Contepomi calls time on club career

Stade Francais' Argentinian playmaker Felipe Contepomi is to end his club career at the end of this season.

The 35-year-old trainee orthopedic surgeon told France Bleu radio that "it was a life decision", and he would return to Argentina.

But he has left open the possibility of again turning out for the Pumas in the Rugby Championship against Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, the second edition of which starts in August.

Contepomi is a veteran of 79 Tests and four World Cups. He made his Pumas debut against Chile in 1998 and is Argentina’s all time top points-scorer with 631 tries.
