Erasmus delivers Siya Kolisi injury update after Argentina win
INJURY UPDATE: Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus confirmed that Siya Kolisi suffered a hamstring injury to his other leg during South Africa’s narrow victory over Argentina but indicated that the captain’s latest setback does not appear to be serious.
Kolisi was returning from a previous hamstring problem and had been carefully managed ahead of the 17-10 win in Buenos Aires. Erasmus said the loose forward now had an issue with the opposite hamstring.
“He injured his hamstring, the other hamstring, but it doesn’t look too bad,” Erasmus said.

Kolisi had a good outing in the 24 minutes that he was on the field, making carries and putting in huge hits.
“I thought Siya was really dynamic with his carries and his clean outs,” the coach said during the post-match press conference.
Andre Esterhuizen left the field in the 65th minute of the game with an HIA (Head Injury Assessment), but Erasmus did not provide any further updates on the severity of the injury.
The powerful midfielder just returned to action after it was feared that he would miss the Test against Argentina following a fractured cheekbone sustained during the Boks’ victory over England at Ellis Park, leaving the field just 10 minutes into the match.
Initial fears centred on concussion, but blood coming from the 32-year-old’s ear later revealed he had fractured his cheekbone.
