Los Pumas get Petti boost for Ireland clash
TEAM ANNOUNCEMENT: Veteran second row forward Guido Petti is restored to the Argentina starting line-up for Sunday’s Test with in-form Ireland at Lansdowne Road.
The 27-year-old missed the Pumas 37-16 victory over Italy last Saturday – which snapped a seven-match losing run – due to a knee problem.
Former captain Pablo Matera, who like Petti was a member of the side that beat Ireland in the 2015 Rugby World Cup quarterfinal, will win his 80th cap.
Another veteran scrumhalf, Tomas Cubelli, will win his 82nd cap and is partnered at halfback by Santiago Carreras.
Hooker Julian Montoya captains the side, a man that Irish skipper James Ryan described as one of the best players in the world at the moment due to the number of turnovers he has won this year.
The Pumas meet an Ireland side on a seven-match winning streak and brimming with confidence after beating New Zealand 29-20 last Saturday.
