Six Nations again this week with the exciting prospect of seeing Ireland hosting France in Dublin with Ben O’Keeffe of New Zealand to referee it.
In the “Six Nations B” there is an interesting clash between neighbours and rivals when Russia and Romania meet, up in the very north of Romania.
World Rugby’s Sevens rattles on to British Columbia and its main city which takes its name from the British explorer, Captain George Vancouver.
There is also the first round of the Pacific Challenge with national second teams in action. It is a tournament with four teams who play matches on each of 8 March, 12 March and 16 March 2019 in Suva.
In Hong Kong there is a Grand Final with Tim Baker to referee it. Baker is originally from New Zealand but now lives in Hong Kong, where he is a referees’ development officer, and referees all over the world.
In South Africa there is the start of the Gold Cup, a national competition for non-university clubs. The cup itself used to be the main trophy of the South African Rugby Football Federation.
