Sanchez handed flyhalf role
Bordeaux flyhalf Nicolas Sanchez was on Thursday named in the Argentina team to face South Africa in the Rugby Championship on Saturday.
The three-Test rookie comes in as a replacement for injured first-choice Juan Martin Hernandez.
Racing-Metro star Hernandez pulled out of the team Wednesday with a hamstring injury sustained while training in Buenos Aires.
Saturday's game in Mendoza follows South Africa's 27-6 win over the Pumas in Cape Town last Saturday.
The 24-year-old made his Test debut for Argentina against Uruguay in 2010.
* Meanwhile, among the replacements Juan Imhoff will take over from Juan Pablo Orlandi, as Phelan opted for a bench of four forwards and three backs.
This will be the 15th clash between the Pumas and Springboks, with the South Africans having won all 14 their previous encounters.
Saturday will be the eighth meeting between the two teams in Argentina and Mendoza will be the second province that will house the Boks – with all previous games between these two countries played in Buenos Aires.
