South Africa have won their last six straight Tests against Argentina, conceding an average of just 16 points per game across that term.

The Bok’s last defeat to Los Pumas came in August 2018 in Mendoza.

You will have to go back to 2015 for the Springboks’ only defeat at home to Argentina. That match was played in Durban with the Boks going down 25-37.

The Argentinians have found life tough in Johannesburg.

In their last clash in the city, they suffered a 13-73 defeat at Soccer City in Soweto.

Five years earlier, Los Pumas went down 9-63 at Ellis Park.

The last meeting between the two sides was at Kings Park in Durban last year with the Boks recording a 38-21 victory.

Looking at all Tests, Argentina have won two of their last four Tests played away from home including a 34-31 win over Australia in their last Test; the last time they won back-to-back games outside Argentina was in November 2020.

South Africa have logged one win and one loss thus far in the 2023 edition of the Rugby Championship. Only once before in the history of the competition (including Tri-Nations) have the Springboks won multiple games in a World Cup year (W2 L1 in 2019).

Argentina will be looking to win multiple games in a single edition of the Rugby Championship for the second year in a row and just the third time ever after picking up two wins in each of 2018 and 2022.

The Boks enter the final round in second spot with five points on the table. The All Blacks are at the top with nine points.

If the All Blacks fail to get any log points from their final outing against the Wallabies and the Boks record a bonus-point win over Argentina, then Jacques Nienaber’s side will be crowned champions.
