Two sides of the Argentinean coin
Argentinean coach Daniel Hourcade named a team of contrasts to face Scotland in the opening match of their year-end tour, in Edinburgh on Saturday.
Inside centre Juan Martin Hernandez will play his 50th game for the Pumas, while lock Juan Cruz Guillemaín will make his debut.
These two sides met last on June 21 this year, in Cordoba, in a match won narrowly (21-19) by the Scots.
Only four Argentinean players that played in Cordoba are back for this game – flanks Rodrigo Báez and Javier Ortega Desio, flyhalf Nicolás Sánchez and wing Manuel Montero.
Hourcade rested most of his frontline players in June, taking them away on a training camp where they prepared for their Rugby Championship campaign.
It worked a charm as the Pumas broke their duck in the Southern Hemisphere championship, beating Australia 21-17 in their last match in Mendoza.
Scotland and Argentina have met 17 times before, the Pumas winning 10 of those. Of their five previous encounters at Murrayfield the Pumas have won four.
