Wallabies count further losses

The Wallabies will be without three key players as they head into their final Rugby Championship match against Argentina next week.

Waratahs lock Will Skelton and Queensland Reds loose forward Jake Schatz will join the Wallabies squad in Argentina ahead of the team’s final Rugby Championship clash in Mendoza on Saturday night.

The duo will join the team in Buenos Aires on Tuesday, and comes following three injuries suffered in Australia’s clash against South Africa in Cape Town yesterday.

The Wallabies went down 28-10 to the Springboks in Cape Town on Saturday, and as well as loosing on a ground where they have not won since 1992, the Australains will also be without Ben McCalman and potentially Rob Simmons and Matt Toomua.

Western Force No.8 McCalman will miss the upcoming clash against Argentina with a shoulder injury, and will now return to Australia on Sunday to be assessed further and commence his rehabilitation.

The injury and his selection availability will be re-assessed in the lead-up to the Wallabies Test against New Zealand in Brisbane on October 18.

Queensland Reds lock Simmons and Brumbies centre Toomua also suffered head knocks in the match against South Africa, with a decision on their availability for the Test against Argentina to be made during the week.
