All Black Thorn back in action

The legendary Thorn was selected to start for Queensland Country when their take on NSW Country Eagles in Round six of the  Australia National Rugby Championship in Toowoomba.

Thorn returned in August after bowing out of the game 15 months ago.

The 41-year-old boast with a professional rugby career that spans over 20 years which includes 460 rugby and league games. Thorn played 59 Test matches for the All Blacks and helped them win the World Cup in New Zealand in 2011. His other accolades include Super Rugby, European Cup, NRL grand final and State of Origin triumphs.

Since retiring Thorn has been part of the coaching staff at the Brisbane-based Reds Super Rugby franchise, and is currently both player and assitant coach at Queensland Country.

Commenting on Thorn's selection into the squad head coach Toutai Kefu said: "The addition of Brad [Thorn] to the starting team will add a lot of experience to the starting side. It will be a great chance for many of our young players to learn from him directly on the field, an experience that is invaluable,"
