Bok Women face nervy wait ahead of Wallaroos clash
INJURY UPDATE: Springbok Women fullback Libbie Janse van Rensburg is in a race against time to be fit for South Africa’s WXV 2 match against Australia in Cape Town.
The Springbok Women’s performance head coach Swys de Bruin was scheduled to name his team on Tuesday.
However, the team announcement was postponed until Thursday, giving Janse van Rensburg additional time to recover.
During Tuesday’s training session at Hamilton’s Rugby Club in Greenpoint, the 30-year-old was spotted with a strapping around her calf and lower leg.
Speaking to @rugby365com, Bok Women scrum coach Laurian Johannes-Haupt is optimistic that the Bulls Daisies star would recover in time.
But revealed there are enough suitable replacements to fill the void.

“Losing Libbie will be a big blow for us because she is very instrumental in the execution of our plans,” said Johannes-Haupt.
“I am hoping she pulls through in time so that we can showcase what we want to do.
“If not, we do have people that can step into positions that can do their thing because they are talented.
“We have a multi-faceted team and we just want the best results for them.”
During training, Jakkie Cilliers, Eloise Webb and Nadine Roos were on kicking duties, under the guidance of De Bruin and Bafana Nhleko.
The Springbok Women will take on the Wallaroos in Round Two of the WXV 2 on Saturday at Athlone Stadium.
