Cooper leads raid on club scene

Wallaby and Reds playmaker Quade Cooper will make his comeback from suspension in the Brisbane club competition this weekend.

Cooper, who has not played since he was suspended in the last round of Super Rugby, will hope to gain some match fitness when he turns out for Souths in the Queensland Premier competition.

Cooper is set to return to Wallaby duty in the opening round of Rugby Championship in Sydney on August 18, when Australia face New Zealand.

Cooper – will make his 2012 debut for Souths as he continues his preparations for the inaugural Rugby Championship – and a number of his Reds teammates join their senior clubs.

Sunnybank are welcoming a number of Reds players back when they face the second-ranked University side.

The Dragons will need the added firepower this week to hold on to their rank, with No.8 Jake Schatz joining Albert Anae in the forward pack and Ben Tapuai joining brother Rex in the starting centres.
