Cooper takes the high road
Wallaby flyhalf Quade Cooper maintains he is unfazed by the jeers he receives from All Black fans ahead of Saturday’s Test in Wellington.
Cooper was loudly booed by New Zealand supporters in the Rugby Championship and Bledisloe Cup opener in Sydney last weekend due to his storied past with All Black captain Richie McCaw.
The controversial and often outspoken playmaker, who last year described the environment in Robbie Deans’ Wallaby camp as “toxic”, took the high road when questioned about his critics.
"Everyone is entitled to act however they want to act," said Cooper.
"Whether it's appropriate or not I'm not the judge of that. I've just got to go out there and try and do the best for my team and hopefully perform well.
"You've still got to contribute to the team whether you're on the bench or starting."
Cooper is set to remain on the bench as coach Ewen McKenzie is expected to resist making changes to the team despite the 29-47 defeat in Sydney.
