Farr-Jones takes the reins in NSW

Former Wallabies World Cup-winning captain Nick Farr-Jones has been confirmed as Chairman of New South Wales Rugby Union (NSWRU) by the Board at its May meeting.

The former Wallabies scrumhalf and NSW Waratahs skipper joined the NSWRU Board in June 2010 and has held the position of interim Chairman since the retirement of Will Jephcott in December 2011.

Farr-Jones played 63 Tests for the Wallabies, leading the side on 36 occasions, and represented the NSW Waratahs on 46 occasions between 1984 and 1993.

His appointment follows last month’s election of Tim Gavin, another former NSW Waratahs captain, to the position of President and twice-capped Wallaby Mick Mathers as Vice President of NSWRU.
