Folau's sushi put on ice

According to a report in The Australian newspaper, Folau signed a one-year contract with the Osaka-based side with a one-year option in 2015 but an ankle injury ruled him out of playing.

Folau now needs to decide if he wants to be a part of Japan's second tier.

"It wasn't concrete whether I was going or not regardless of whether they were in the top division or not. It's still up in the air. Still need time to think about it. Nothing is sure at the moment," he said of the one-year option.

When the Waratahs star signed in July 2015, reports said he would earn around Aus$700,000 ($503,000) a season in Japan, with the league running between August and February.

"At the moment I'm not even thinking about it. My focus is on Super Rugby and what's coming ahead. Obviously, it would've been nice to be playing in the Top League, that's for sure, but for me it's something I can't control," he added.
