French Clubs look to poach Cooper
Contract talks between Wallaby Quade Cooper and the ARU have slowed as interest from abroad peaks for the mercurial playmaker to leave the country.
The Reds flyhalf has almost been forgotten about after injuring his shoulder in May during the Super Rugby competition against the Melbourne Rebels.
Cooper has been out of action for four months now, playing no part in the Wallabies June Tests or the current Rugby Championships.
However, the break has given Cooper to mend up full after undergoing additional surgery on his hip to clean up a loose cartilage issue.
Now with the injury lay-off drawing to a close, Cooper's future has become a topic of interest.
It has been reported that French clubs are apparently trying to poach Cooper out of Australia with their typical calling car – a large pay packet.
Cooper has turned down offers from France before however it seems that Lyon are reportedly leading the chase, according to Midi Olympique.
In 2012, Cooper rejected an offer from a French club that would have seen him become one of the best-paid players in the world.
However, with contract negotiations stalling, Cooper, could well be heading to France in 2015.
Cooper is expected to make a decision on his future in the next fortnight.
