Mumm free to play against England

Mumm was cited for a tip tackle last weekend in his team's 24-27 loss to Ireland.

"Mumm appeared in London before an independent Disciplinary Committee, having been cited by an independent World Rugby-appointed Citing Commissioner for allegedly lifting an opponent dangerously in contravention of Law 10.4(j) in the  match between Ireland and Australia at the Aviva Stadium In Dublin last Saturday," said a statement from World Rugby.

"Mumm accepted that he had committed an act of foul play (for which he had been yellow-carded) but asserted that it would not have warranted a red card.

"The Disciplinary Committee, chaired by Simon Thomas (Wales), alongside Bonike Erinle (England) and Derek Bevan (Wales), viewed video footage of the incident, listened to detailed evidence and representations from and on behalf of the player, and reviewed all of the other evidence. It then concluded that, although Mumm had committed an act of foul play (as he had accepted), the particular circumstances of the incident meant that Mumm's actions would not have warranted a red card."

No sanction was imposed and Mumm is free to play in Australia's final Test of the year against England on Saturday at Twickenham.
