PLAYER RATINGS: Classy Wallabies

It was a morale-boosting win for the Wallabies in Cardiff ahead of their match against England next weekend.

Robert Seltzer rates the Australian players!

15 Kurtley Beale:

Often an option at first receiver – a couple of half breaks but didn’t quite happen for him from phase play. Superb steal from Stef Evans for his try.

6/10

14 Marika Koroibete:

Looked dangerous with ball in hand but we want to see more coming off his wing.

6/10

13 Tevita Kuridrani:

Happy to receive the ball and provided good go forward. He continued his good form from last week.

7/10

12 Samu Kerevi:

Shackled well and lost the ball in contact a couple of times. Quite one dimensional from 12 and if the power running doesn't work then he doesn't offer that much. He was replaced quote early on by Karmichael Hunt.

5/10

11 Reece Hodge:

Australia's form back for the past few tests. Didn't see as much of the ball as he has done.

6/10

10 Bernard Foley:

A solid return to the No.10 Jersey. Controlled the game well, while not trying too much.

7/10

9 Will Genia:

MOTM. Controlled the game. Superb pass for Adam Coleman's try and his tactical kicking was very clever. Had a couple of snipes around the rucks keeping the Welsh defence honest and his defence was top class.

9/10

8 Sean McMahon:

Did a lot of the cleaning up and supporting at rucks, but has had more effective games.

6/10

7 Michael Hooper:

Another industrious game from the captain – as consistent a player as you will find and he topped off his performance with a try. He was the unlucky recipient of the yellow card that could have gone to a number of players for indiscretions.

8/10

6 Ned Hannigan:

Got everywhere on the pitch. He doesn't have as much of an impact with ball in hand as Jack Dempsey but a decent understudy.

6/10

5 Adam Coleman:

A much-improved performance on his recent outings. More prominent in the loose and he ran a great line for his try. However, a couple of silly penalties blotted his copybook.

7/10

4 Rob Simmons:

Part of a good performance from the Wallaby forwards, but was outshone by his second-row partner.

6/10

3 Sekope Kepu:

Not as much ball carrying as Scott Sio, but he very solid at scrum time.

7/10

2 Tatafu Polota-Nau:

A couple of wobbly early line-outs, but his defence was superb with a try-saving tackle on Gareth Davies in the first half.

7/10

1 Scott Sio:

Under pressure at times in the scrum, but he stood up to the challenge. He had a lot more touches of the ball than in recent tests.

7/10

Replacements:

16 Stephen Moore (On for Polota-Nau, 59th min):

6/10

6/10
