The Wallabies' big unbeaten run

New Zealand have never beaten Australia in a World Cup match, but the Wallabies have not won in New Zealand since 2001 and their last win in Auckland was in 1986.

These are just a few of the intriguing statistics to emerge as we look ahead to the much anticipated World Cup quarterfinal between the Kiwis and Aussies in Auckland on Sunday.

Australia and New Zealand have met in two World Cup matches before, on both occasions in the semifinals and twice the Wallabies won.

It is also worth nothing that the Wallabies had never come into a World Cup play-off match against the All Blacks with better form (in the year of that match) than their trans-Tasman rivals.

We take a look back at some interesting results from the past between these Australasian rivals!]
