Wallabies to duel Dragons in Cardiff

The Wallabies will take on fellow World Cup quarterfinalists Wales in a one-off Test match in Cardiff in December – a week after the Australians play the Barbarians at Twickenham.

The Tri-Nations champions will step out against the Welsh at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday December 3 for a Test to cap their brief two-game European tour.

The James Bevan Trophy, currently held by Australia, will be presented to the winner of the one-off Test.

The December Test will be the 31st meeting between the two sides, should they not meet in the World Cup Final in New Zealand, with Australia claiming the honours 19 times, the Welsh 10 with one draw, which came in 2006 when the two teams ended their clash locked on 29-points all at Millennium Stadium.

The Welsh will be looking to reverse their recent results against the Wallabies having not beaten the Australians since 2008, when the ran out 21-18 winners in Cardiff.

The Welsh Test will follow the Wallabies’ match against the Barbarians on Saturday November 26, which will see the Barbarians out to secure a hat-trick of southern hemisphere scalps having already defeated South Africa 26-20 in 2010 and New Zealand 25-18 in 2009.
