Wallaby No.8 to go under the knife

Wallaby No.8 Wycliff Palu has been ruled out for the remainder of the year due to a knee injury.

The Waratahs ace has been hampered by the injury for most of the year but was hoping to make his return in the Rugby Championship.

However, scans revealed the 31-year-old requires surgery to repair torn cartilage in his right knee.

"I have not put a time limit on my return, I am just taking it one day at a time," Palu told News Limited.

"I do want to make sure I take all the right steps.

"I won't be coming back to play until I am 100 percent, which is something I have done in the past and that has led to other injuries."
