Brive rope in another South African
NEWS: Brive has landed the signature of South African lock Irne Herbst for next season.
The ProD2 club, currently second in the table at 38 points and three points behind leaders Grenoble, signed a two-year contract with Herbst, set to leave Harlequins.
The experienced South African has fifty-five games with Harlequins and seventy-eight with Treviso.
Harlequins have resigned another South African, Stephan Lewies, which might have prompted Herbst to look elsewhere.
Moving to Brive, Herbst will join up with fellow South African Eduard Coetzee, who was appointed as the new Managing Director earlier in the year.
The Brive contingent is fraught with South Africans, including Curwin Bosch, Marcel van der Merwe and Retief Marais.
Brive is set to lose the services of Julien Delannoy, Sitaleki Timani, and Tevita Ratuva in June 2025 when they reach the end of their contracts with the Corrèze club.
That is why the club is particularly aggressive on the transfer market at the moment with managers hard at work to build the future squad.
