Bulls keep their beef
Bulls prop Frik Kirsten extended his contract with the franchise, the Blue Bulls Company (Pty) Ltd confirmed on Wednesday.
Kirsten will now play for the Bulls till November 2013.
The 24-year-old prop has established himself in the Bulls squad in 2012, and has made 13 appearances in Super Rugby, 11 of those this year.
His ability to pack down both sides of the scrum makes him a very valuable squad member.
"Frik has grown tremendously as a player over the last couple of years and especially after coming back from his neck injury, he has impressed all with his efforts at Super Rugby level," Bulls coach Frans Ludeke said.
"He is definitely a player to watch for the future and we are delighted for him to stay on," Ludeke added.
Kirsten's allegiance with the Bulls and Blue Bulls made the decision and easy one, the player said.
"I have played all my rugby for the Blue Bulls and Bulls team since school and they supported me during my time out with injury," Kirsten said.
"I believe the future is bright with this franchise and I would like to be part of their vision of performance and achievement," Kirsten added.
