On Tuesday, Japanese club the Eagles revealed that the Springbok has joined them.

“I’m very excited to join the Yokohama Eagles team, it’s a real honour for me to represent the club and its people,” said Janse van Rensburg.

“I strive to help the team in any way possible and can’t wait to build long-lasting relationships within this season.

“I can’t wait to show you all as much of me as I can in this season.”

Janse van Rensburg joined the Sharks in 2022 from Sale in England.

Before Tuesday’s announcement, he was linked with a move to French club Bordeaux.

The 29-year-old has struggled with his form this season and has had minimal game time in Durban.

Fellow Springboks Faf de Klerk and Jesse Kriel are both representing the Eagles in Japan.
