Referees for Women's Six Nations 2019
World Rugby has announced the appointment of match officials for the Women’s Six Nations in 2019. Aimee Barrett-Theron of South Africa will blow the whistle to get it started.
Aimee is one of two women from the Southern Hemisphere appointed to this series of matches. The other is Rebecca O’Mahoney of New Zealand. Both Aimee and Rebecca played for their respective countries before turning to refereeing. Both have been appointed to two matches at this tournament.
Twelve of the matches will be refereed by women, who include Joy Neville who was World Rugby’s Referee of the Year in 2017.
Three matches will be refereed by men – Tim Baker of Hong Kong, Sean Gallagher of Ireland and Ian Tempest of England, all of whom are Test referees.
