There are three Six Nations competitions – the senior men, the Under-20s and the women, but at this time there are other international matches, taken seriously by those who play and those who organise.

Students

France’s Universitaire vs Irish Colleges, 60-11

The French Universities side is always a strong one. First they accounted for Scottish Students in Edinburgh and now have thumped the Irish Colleges in France.

It took the French just two minutes to score their first try at Stade Gilbert-Santiago, Barbezieux

After just five minutes the French led 14-0 and at half-time 41-6.

England A vs Spain, 10-5 in Gijón

England A were fresh from their victory over the Nomads by=ut the Spanish side made them fight.

England A Women ran in two tries to secure a 10-5 victory against Spain in Gijon on Sunday after they had led 5-0 at the brealk.

England A coach Mike Barnett said: “This was a very tough game and Spain made us work really hard for the victory. The wet conditions made the game tricky as both sides made too many handling errors, but we defended well and put a lot of pressure on them, and when we could keep the ball we scored.

“Spain are a very passionate and committed team so I am really pleased that we managed to grind out this win, and there were also some good performances from our young players who made a real impression on the match.”

Spain’s try came late in the match.
