Two first-half tries by centre Ceri Large to a penalty goal by Robyn Wilkins gave England a 14-3 lead at half-time when Wales, as they had done against France, defended with great courage.
Robyn Wilkins carried on scoring, this time two tries one when she dived on the ball in the England in-goal and one when she intercepted, but two penalties by Amber Reed kept the eager Welsh at bay.

Italy were first to score when Michela Sillari goaled a penalty, but it was their only score. Ireland managed just one try in the first half, scored by prop Lindsay Peat and converted Niamh Briggs for a 7-3 lead at the break. In the second half substitute Paula Fitzpatrick scored Ireland's second try with 16 minutes remaining. Another substitute Nora Stapleton converted the second try.

Scotland are set fair for the wooden spoon though France still have a chance of the championship title. But they did not give up[ easily. France scored their only points of the first half a minute before half-time, a penalty try.
And their first score in the second half was also a penalty try though they got 'normal' tries through lock Audrey Forlani and, just before the final whistle, Julie Duval, a replacement prop.
