Ashton to appeal 10-week suspension
Ashton, who pleaded not guilty in the independent disciplinary hearing in London last Wednesday, will be appealing against the level of the sanction imposed.
The 28-year old wing received the suspension after he was cited by match citing commissioner Yves Thieffine (France) for allegedly making contact with the eye(s) and/or eye area of the Ulster centre Luke Marshall in the 16th minute of the European Rugby Champions Cup Round Five match at Allianz Park.
Details of the independent Appeal Committee panel and the date of the hearing will be communicated by European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR) at a later stage.
Saracens will not be making any further comment until the hearing's conclusion.
Bath wing Semesa Rokoduguni has joined Eddie Jones' England squad as cover for Ashton.
