Brown avoids citing over Murray kick

Brown struck Murray in the head as he attempted to kick the ball from the Munster scrumhalf's grasp during England's 21-10 win on Saturday, forcing the Ireland No.9 off with nine minutes to play.

The incident was reviewed on the big screen by referee Romain Poite, who elected not to take action after consulting television match official Shaun Veldsman.

And it was not mentioned in a statement issued by Six Nations organisers on Monday listing the disciplinary cases arising from the latest round of matches.

Ireland head coach Joe Schmidt has called for World Rugby to review the rules surrounding kicking the ball out of the ruck.

But Brown protested his innocence on Twitter, saying the "video ref clearly showed I … kicked the ball".

England's win at Twickenham left them top of the table with three wins from three games ahead of their showdown with second-place Wales at Twickenham on March 12.
