Brown getting ready to return

England fullback Mike Brown is progressing well from his concussion according to head coach Stuart Lancaster who hopes to have him in training by Friday.

The England squad assembled at Pennyhill Park on Tuesday ahead of a training week in preparation for the Six Nations match against Scotland on March 14.

All the players were medically assessed following the Test against Ireland and Premiership Round 16.

England Head Coach Stuart Lancaster said: “We reviewed the game as a whole squad and trained this afternoon.

"Luther Burrell has a calf strain and will not train Wednesday.

"Mike Brown has progressed well and we hope to have him back in full training on Friday.

“The majority of the bench players and non matchday 23 will be released back to their clubs over the next 24 hours and be available for this weekend’s Premiership games.

"We feel they will benefit from some game time and to put themselves in contention for the Scotland match and we will give an update on those players tomorrow [Wednesday].”
