Cosslett set to be new RFU Chairman

Cosslett has served as an Independent Non-Executive Director on the RFU Board. As Chairman of England Rugby 2015, the organising committee for the 2015 Rugby World Cup, he oversaw the successful delivery of the biggest World Cup in history.

The 61-year-old has strong international business experience and leadership skills from working in global organisations over the past 30 years.

Cosslett has a lifelong association with the game which began watching his father play for Broughton Park in Manchester and NW Counties. 

His own playing career saw him play in England, Scotland and Australia. He began playing at Broughton Park Colts, then Davenport RFC before playing for Manchester University. 

He captained University Vandals RFC and became Chairman of the rugby committee. He spent three seasons at Edinburgh Wanderers before playing his last competitive game for Melbourne Harlequins in the mid-nineties while living in Australia. Andy is a Vice President of the Vandals.

Cosslett's appointment is subject to approval at the next RFU Council meeting on the October 14.
