England gets important Farrell news
TEAM NEWS: Owen Farrell and Jonny May joined the England squad on Monday ahead of this weekend’s year-end Tests opener against Argentina.
Saracens captain Farrell has been a doubt for Sunday’s international at Twickenham after suffering a concussion playing for his club earlier this month.
Farrell took a knee to the head in an accidental clash in Saracens’ Premiership win at Exeter on October 22.
But the Rugby Football Union confirmed Farrell has joined Eddie Jones’ 36-strong squad and will “continue through the latter stages of his graduated return-to-play protocols in camp”.
Gloucester wing May missed England’s training camp in Jersey last week due to an elbow injury, but has been declared fit to link up with the group.
May, who missed last season’s Six Nations with a knee issue, was injured in Gloucester’s recent fixture against London Irish.
Courtney Lawes is not yet fit to return having been sidelined since suffering a head injury in September.
Lewis Ludlam has also been ruled out with an abdominal problem.
Newcastle’s Sean Robinson has been added to the squad.
