Marler apologises to Lee over abuse

Marler was picked up by referee Craig Joubert's microphone apparently calling Lee "gypsy boy" during the first half of England's 25-21 win at Twickenham and tournament organisers have opened an investigation.

The remark prompted a confrontation between the players and the RFU said that Marler has expressed regret over what he said.

"Joe spoke to Samson at half-time to apologise and he was reminded by [head coach] Eddie Jones of his responsibilities as an England player after the game," the RFU said in a statement.
