Player ratings: Almost a perfect 10

Flyhalf Dan Biggar may not have been flawless, but he was as close to a perfect 10 as you could get.

Biggar produced a 23-point haul – a record for a Welshman against England – including a 49-metre match-winning penalty.

Jan de Koning rates the Welsh players!

15 Liam Williams:

Showed he too is a class act, making plenty of metres and a flawless defensive effort. Wales must hope his injury is not serious.

8/10

14 George North:

He may be a threat with ball in hand, but he turned a few balls and his workrate was not that great either.

6/10

13 Scott Williams:

Made a couple of decent breaks that produced plenty of metres, while his defence was also flawless.

7/10

12 Jamie Roberts:

Won a crucial penalty turnover at a ruck in the first half and also produced a neat grubber in the second half. Was well marked when he had ball in hand.

11 Hallam Amos:

Big defensive game, but didn't see too much of the ball.

6/10

10 Dan Biggar:

If it wasn't for a couple of lost turnovers he may well have had the perfect game. Some great cover defending to go with that deadly accurate boot.

9/10

9 Gareth Davies:

His service was crisp, made plenty of metres and scored the try that turned the match on its head.

8/10

8 Taulupe Faletau:

Was a monster with the ball in hand and made all his tackles.

7/10

7 Sam Warburton (captain):

Was penalised once and conceded a turnover, but otherwise outplayed England counterpart Chris Robshaw.

7/10

6 Dan Lydiate:

Made a heap of tackles, but not as effective elsewhere as his captain.

6/10

5  Alun Wyn Jones:

Was a hugely influential figure in the collision areas, to go with his line-out and restart skills.

8/10

4 Bradley Davies:

Lots of carries that produced metres, worked hard at the breakdown certainly earned his salary.

7/10

3 Tomas Francis:

Struggled in the scrums and the rest of his game wasn't much better.

4/10

2 Scott Baldwin:

His line-out throwing was not as accurate as it should be and his workrate was poor.

4/10

1 Gethin Jenkins:

Got penalised in the first two scrums of the match and was under pressure throughout his stay on the field.

3/10

Replacements:

16 Ken Owens (on for Baldwin, 49th min):

Did not do any better than the man he replaced.

4/10

17 Aaron Jarvis:

Not used.

18 Samson Lee (on for Francis, 49th min):

Did the basics well enough, but nothing spectacular.

5/10

Not enough time to be rated.
