RFU 'disappointed' with Eddie's England team
SPOTLIGHT: The Rugby Football Union will conduct a review following England’s dismal year-end series.
The RFU released an official statement revealing the governing body will hold a series of meetings over the next two weeks to discuss the team’s year-end campaign.
England concluded its year in horrendous fashion.
They were resoundingly defeated 13-27 by South Africa and were booed off by the crowd at Twickenham on Saturday.
The side only recorded a single victory against Japan earlier in November but lost to Argentina for the first time since 2006, while they were facing another significant defeat to New Zealand before a late rally led to a 25-25 draw.

There is no mention of Eddie Jones in the statement, nonetheless, the coach’s position will undoubtedly be on the agenda
The statement read: “The review panel will hold a series of meetings in the next two weeks to discuss the [year-end] Nations campaign and how improvements can be made ahead of the Six Nations.”
The statement revealed the RFU panel includes board and executive members along with independent, former players and coaches.
Bill Sweeney, the RFU CEO, added: “We would like to thank England fans for their patience and support, it matters to us how they feel.
“Like them, we are really disappointed with the results of the [year-end] Nations Series. Despite strong individual performances and some great new talent coming into the team, the overall results are not where we expect them to be.”
With no more games left this year, England end 2022 with their worst record since 2008 in terms of defeats.
However, it is highly unlikely that the coach would be replaced with just 10 months to go before the World Cup.
