Saracens shut down England's virus fear
NEWS: Saracens confirmed that Mako Vunipola has been training with Premiership club amid Coronavirus fears.
Vunipola was ruled out of this weekend’s Six Nations match between England and Wales as a precaution due to coronavirus fears.
The England camp reported that the 29-year-old Vunipola was placed in self-isolation as a precaution due to coronavirus fears after flying back from Tonga via Hong Kong.
“Mako is not in camp on medical grounds. He is not sick, but it is a precaution,” an RFU spokesperson said.

However, Saracens confirmed that the loosehead prop has been cleared for action after being assessed by the club’s medical staff and could play in Saturday’s match against the Leicester Tigers.
The Premiership side released a statement revealing that Mako and his brother Billy Vunipola returned to Saracens after visiting family in Tonga which included a short stop at Hong Kong, where multiple cases of the coronavirus have been making headlines.
Nonetheless, the defending Championship is adamant there is no need to worry about the medical state of pair.
“Travellers returning from Hong Kong are not currently subject to mandatory quarantine or self-isolation unless they become symptomatic, ” the statement read, adding: “Neither Billy or Mako have displayed symptoms of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) and on their return to London were assessed by the club’s medical staff.
“The duo have been around the Saracens environment for the past couple of days, with the latter available for selection this weekend.
“Saracens will continue to follow the Public Health England and World Health Organisation regulations surrounding coronavirus and the medical staff will be closely monitoring Billy and Mako on a regular basis,”
