Women's Tests in France

England Women go across to France to meet their most serious European rivals in two Tests this week – one at Stade Jean Bouin in Marseille on Wednesday evening and the other at Pierre de Coubertin Stadium in Châteaurenard on Saturday afternoon.

France have had a Test recently. They beat Italy 37-0 in Châteaurenard.

The England coach has chosen five uncapped players in his side for Wednesday’s match – Harriet Millar-Mills, who formerly captained England Under-20, Alexandra Matthews, Hannah Gallagher, Lydia Thompson and Ceri Large. There are also two uncapped players on the bench – Isobel Noel-Smith and Rose Jay.

Amy Turner also returns to international action for the first time since the Rugby World Cup final in September 2010, but playing at hooker rather than scrumhalf where she has previously won 51 caps for England.
