Banned Parra to miss All Black Test
France scrumhalf Morgan Parra has been suspended for four weeks for punching following a citing from the Top 14 clash with Bordeaux-Begles on September 29.
Although Clermont Auvergne won the game comfortably at home, 40-11, Parra got involved in an incident with back row Gibouin Gautier and allegedly punched him while two other Clermont teammates were holding the Bordeaux player back.
The disciplinary hearing imposed a four-week suspension that means Parra will miss Sunday's European Cup match with Harlequins at Stade Marcel Michelin. He will also miss the Top 14 games against Brive and reigning French champions Castres.
His ban will also cover France's opening game in the November Test window, when Philippe Saint-Andre's team are due to take on the Rugby Championship winners New Zealand on Saturday, November 9.
With Racing Metro scrumhalf Maxime Machenaud also ruled out of the November internationals after breaking his hand in last weekend's European Cup triumph over Parra and Clermont, Saint-Andre is going to have to look far and wide for suitable candidates to fill the No.9 jersey next month.
