The club revealed that the 28-year-old has signed a contract extension until 2024.

Serfontein, who has 35 Springbok caps to his name, joined the club from the Bulls in 2017.

He played his last Test against the All Blacks in Cape Town in that same year.

“Jan is an important player in our system,” said Montpellier coach Philippe Saint-Andrรฉ.

“He is a leader in our team, and he was even captain this season against Perpignan.

“I am delighted that he is continuing the adventure with us. He is 200 percent in the club project.”
