Clermont star out for rest of season

INJURY UPDATE: Clermont fullback Nick Abendanon has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a cervical injury, the Top 14 club announced.

The 32-year-old, who won two international caps for England in 2007, only returned to action in December after shoulder surgery, but will now face treatment.

Abendanon has been a key player for Clermont since joining from Bath in 2014.

Clermont are currently second in the Top 14 table behind Toulouse, and sit seven points clear of third-placed Lyon in the race to secure a first-round bye in the playoffs.
