Irishman Denis Coulson, 25, New Zealander Rory Grice, 29, and Frenchman Loick Jammes, 24 are under investigation for attacking a 21-year-old woman in March 2017 in Bordeaux.

According to her, they had met in a nightclub after a league match in the city when the side was in the first-tier Top 14.

They then drove to a hotel before raping her, but the trio claim she consented to the act.

The date for the trial was not set and they face a maximum prison sentence of 20 years if found guilty.

The three were initially suspended by Grenoble and have subsequently all left the club for other sides in France.
