France legend joins Bordeaux staff
France legend Emile Ntamack has joined Bordeaux Begles as backline coach on a three-year deal, the Top 14 club announced on Friday.
Ntamack, 44, replaces Vincent Etcheto who was sacked after a season in which Bordeaux finished in seventh spot, one place off the top six that vie for the league title.
Bordeaux, however, will play in next season's European Champions Cup after beating English side Gloucester in a play-off to clinch the final spot.
"The name of Emile Ntamack came out of the hat 10 days ago," said Bordeaux president Laurent Marti.
"He was patiently biding his time at Toulouse, but that didn't happen and that gave us the chance to take him on."
Toulouse stalwart Ntamack, who scored 26 tries in 46 matches for France, cut his coaching teeth with the national Under-21 side before becoming Marc Lievremont's assistant with France between 2007-11.
Fabien Pelous was last week named as Toulouse's new sporting director, long-time coach Guy Noves having being named as France coach from November 1.
At Bordeaux, Ntamack joins a coaching set up headed by former teammate Raphael Ibanez, All Black Bruce Reihana and Regis Sonnes (forwards).
