French star in doubt for season

Toulouse lock Romain Millo-Chluski risks missing the whole of the Six Nations after dislocating his right shoulder in Saturday’s Top 14 match with Lyon.

Toulouse backs coach Jean-Baptiste Elissalde said that Millo-Chluski, who had only been on for seven minutes, looked as if he would be out for three to four months, adding that he had been taken to hospital to undergo tests.

Millo-Chluski, who on Thursday had been named in Philippe Saint-André’s first Six Nations squad, lay prone on the ground for some time, leaving no doubt in his teammates’ minds as to the seriousness of the injury.

“I immediately realised it was serious, it is really a terrible blow to him,” said flank Yannick Nyanga, who was also called up to the Six Nations squad after missing out on the World Cup.

Toulouse head coach Guy Noves said he worried as to whether Millo-Chluski would return at all this term.

“We had real difficulty in putting his shoulder back into its socket,” said Noves.

“For him, the rest of the season is compromised and his eventual participation in the Six Nations is a long shot.”

Elissalde said that the lock’s injury had taken the joy out of their 51-10 humbling of bottom side Lyon.
